Dear Coyuchi Customers,
I’m delighted to share with you the launch of Little Coyuchi, our new collection of bedding, bath and gifts for the youngest members of your family. Though smaller in size, these products are crafted of the same organic and natural fibers as our core collection, with the quality, style and comfort you’ve come to expect from us.
In response to requests from loyal customers like you, we embarked on a journey to create simply beautiful children’s products while staying true to our organic values and nature-based aesthetic. Inspiration came from forests, beaches and nature’s tiniest creatures. We explored children’s literature, folk stories and even songs as we created color palettes and painted prints.
As moms ourselves, we sought to design the types of products that we’d want to surround our own children with: pure, safe, durable, and easy to care for. And as with our core collection, we wanted our textiles to be as functional as they are fashionable. You’ll find sheets and blankets in pastels and sun-drenched hues that mix and match; lofty quilts and shams with fun hand-quilted patterns; muslin washcloths backed in supersoft cotton terry—all made from sustainably grown 100% organic cotton. For the first time, parents will have all of the elements they need to assemble children’s beds that are completely organic from top to bottom—from sheets and blankets, duvet covers and pillows, to mattresses and mattress pads, to crib bumpers and skirts.
Things have changed a lot—and for the better—since I first became a mom almost fifteen years ago. I remember trying to stay hydrated during my first pregnancy by drinking copious amounts of water from plastic bottles—totally unaware of the risk of BPA exposure to my child. And I cringe when I think of the flame-retardants that saturated my kids’ crib mattresses, car seats and high chairs and the off-gassing from plastic and other synthetic materials that filled our home. Today we are so lucky to have our choice of minimally processed products for the home that are safe our families—and the families that work to make them.
At Coyuchi we believe that little ones deserve an environment—in their homes and on the earth—that’s as pristine from day one as they are. It’s my sincere hope that Little Coyuchi is one small step in that direction.
