5. Sync with nature’s rhythms
“Think about where air can freely flow in your space and position your bed so there’s proper circulation throughout the room,” Thornburg says. “Sleeping with the windows open will help to cool the room naturally overnight and allow fresh air in.”
Self-care can be applied as you pay attention to the outer rhythms of nature and take notice of how your inner rhythms respond. Perhaps you rise earlier than normal as the light pours through your windows; inviting you to take a walk in nature, to sip tea beneath a tree or sit in silence from bed as you watch the sun rise with intention. When a Full Moon rises, leave your blinds open and let the luminous light cleanse your space. When a New Moon is present and the sky resembles complete darkness, close your blinds and allow yourself to move inward.
Paying attention to how we feel and making the proper adjustments that resemble healing, nourishment and rest. This is bringing Nature home.
