The following hotels are wonderful places that happen to have Coyuchi organic cotton bedding and bath items in their guest rooms. We happen to love them for it and hope you will too.

The Post Ranch Inn

Built to blend into the gorgeous cliff side landscape of Big Sur, California, the Post Ranch Inn takes the idea of a tree house and makes it magical. If wild can be elegant, The Post Ranch Inn accomplishes it. The wind blows strong, the fog rolls in, and the still moments are like gifts from the gods. Every moment makes you happy to be alive when you’re here. The spa treatments coupled with some delicious food and your favorite companion will refresh and rejuvenate like none other. Coyuchi makes a special grey towel for The Post Ranch Inn, and special robes, and special duvet covers, actually. We would probably do anything for them, we are in such admiration and awe of this visionary place.

Bardessono

Bardessono, located in the incomparable Napa Valley, is one of the greenest luxury hotels in the US. We’ve been there and can vouch for what a perfect match Coyuchi’s organic sheets, towels, and blankets are for this incredible hotel. The rooms are very private, and each has a lovely outdoor area with an outdoor shower. Incredibly spacious bathrooms offer the feel of having your own in-room spa which brings plentiful deep breaths, and maybe a few sighs. This is the kind of place where you feel healthier just by being there. The views of Napa and environs from the pool deck are breathtaking. And the restaurant! We could go on and on…. but we’ll end by telling you that Roger, the General Manager, has a fabulous sense of humor and along with Christina Salas-Poras (whose touch is unmistakable), they have brought the green hotel into the arena of luxury with such immaculate and comfortable precision that we think you might need to go and experience it for yourself. Don’t forget to find the vegetable garden and definitely tell them we sent you.

Hotel Hana Maui

Hotel Hana Maui’s website says it best: Hana is “enveloped by the mists of ancient Polynesian song and story.” We like it, though the sun certainly shines on this gorgeous hotel as well. As green as the hills that surround this incredible destination, Hotel Hana is truly a sanctuary. And we adore that guests sleep on Coyuchi sheets while the sound of the waves lull them to sleep. Upon waking, a stroll on the beach, a hot stone massage, and a lovely fruit breakfast await before you dash off to snorkel with the fishes. If you go here, we’ll be envious! In the mean time, working with Danny, the hotel’s assistant manager, is such a breeze that we feel like we’re there all of the time. Well, almost.

Hotel Terra Jackson Hole

We have yet to visit this hotel, but we’re going to go this spring when the wildflowers begin to bloom. Or next month to make some tracks in the fresh powder. Hotel Terra has something gorgeous for everyone all year around. Director of Sustainability, Ashley Morgan, has pulled out all of the stops to research the origin of absolutely everything that went into the building of this hotel. If you’re interested in what you’re eating and drinking, you should know that the coffee is organic and fair trade; we’re pleased to report that the sheets and towels are too. It’s a rare hotel that orders the organic cotton mattress pad from us (we’re honest with ourselves, who is thinking about mattress pads, besides us, really?), but Hotel Terra has done just that, and it’s a great metaphor for how truly and deeply ecologically friendly this hotel is. We admire the foundation of this business to the core and we can’t wait to visit and stay in one of the very cool rooms and take advantage of the very hip chill spa, outdoor pool, and après ski fun. We at Coyuchi are certain that the world is better with Hotel Terra in it.

Cavallo Point

Cavallo Point boasts the most incredible location – right at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge facing San Francisco. The views, well appointed guest rooms, spa, and education program that includes yoga, cooking classing, and hiking, make this hotel a fabulous place to spend either a week or a weekend. The spa is so relaxing (think: fireplace, tea, post massage bliss), and the hiking can’t be beat. Boasting locally grown and produced vegetables, meats, and cheeses, the restaurant is really something with which to get yourself acquainted. Cavallo Point was famous even before it opened, and we think that’s just about right.

Manka’s Inverness Lodge

This fabled destination is like no other. It’s hard to put words to the whimsical refinery and rustic nature of this famous place. While the restaurant and some of the lodgings burned in a dramatic fire a few Christmases ago on a dark and wild night, the remaining lodgings are spectacular and we are so pleased that they use Coyuchi sheets and duvet covers. We almost wish those duvet covers could talk and report back to us on what we imagine is probably the best pillow talk ever spoken. Please tell them we say hello if you should stay there, and if you stay in the boathouse, you’ll recognize it from some of our photos, we once used it as a photo shoot location, it’s that good.

The Maidstone

Swedish hotelier Jenny Ljungberg, the former employer of a friend of Coyuchi’s, reinvented the old Maidstone Arms in Easthampton as c/o THE MAIDSTONE and she offers “a refreshing philosophy of mixing free-spirited Scandinavian design with a timeless sophistication creating a delightful blend of cozy and modern with a bohemian twist.” Sounds pretty perfect, right? Well, it’s even better than that because they offer you everything you’d want from a hotel in this area of the world, but the sheets, hand picked by Jenny’s Brand Manager, Malin, happen to be made from 100% organically grown and fair trade certified cotton, and they happen to be Coyuchi’s. This is just one example of where the European sensibility to choose long lasting, ecologically sourced items wins out at this beautiful hotel. We will visit this lovely place and report back on how interesting and refined we know our visit there will be. (Malin, congratulations on your new baby!)

The Fairmont, San Francisco

Of all places that Coyuchi bedding and bath items could be, the San Francisco Fairmont has seen more historical drama and raucous times than any hotel we could mention! Coyuchi’s sheets, towels, and robes are in the Lexus Hybrid Living Suite in the hotel. The suite is crème de la crème green, and when you request said suite, you sleep on organic sheets, use organic towels, drink purified water, walk on sustainably sourced carpet, and have a Lexus hybrid at your disposal to use for exploring the city and surrounding world class Bay Area. If you stay in this suite, please give us a call, we’ll give you directions to our loft in the gorgeous town of Point Reyes Station, give you a hearty welcome, send you out on the best hike of your life, and then offer you tea upon your return. Cowgirl Creamery is just two blocks down on main street, and we’ll make sure they welcome you there too.

The Fairmont, Washington DC

How many hotels in Washington D.C. are thinking about sustainability? We don’t know of very many, but there is another Lexus Hybrid Living Suite at the Fairmont in D.C. Sibling to our San Francisco favorite, this hotel has all of the attributes of an elegant hotel, replete with sparkling chandeliers, sweeping staircases and elegant ballrooms. We feel rather sheepish to be included, but arrive with bells on, and strut our organic stuff wherever we can, so join and book the Lexus Hybrid Living Suite at this spectacular hotel.

Boon Hotel

Talk about weekend getaway! This place is comfortable, easygoing, fun and lovely. Just a quick drive from San Francisco, this place is a fun place to relax, lounge poolside post-massage, or explore all that the Russian River Valley has to offer. Located just outside of Guerneville, CA, the hotel is owned and expertly run by Christa Ludke. Boon also has EO personal care products (which we love), Coyuchi sheets, towels, and robes (which we love more), a new restaurant we’ve been trying to go and visit (soon!), plus a host of other environmentally logical aspects of energy and water use. Great place to star gaze!

Bird Rock Hotel on San Juan Island, WA

Have you ever been to this part of the world? You must take a ferryboat to get there, and in the summer, you will most certainly eat an ice cream. This is the kind of place that confirms a great quality of life. There is sailing, swimming, biking, hiking, kayaking, and we’re thinking a little bit of bird watching. All the rooms at this hotel are unique, and they are all expertly outfitted with all the necessary data electronic bits too. But the views, the fireplaces, the clean, elegant, relaxing atmosphere – this is why you come here. The town of Friday Harbor is so wonderful, you’ll really be glad for the complimentary beach cruiser.

Stone House 1854

This is an incredible historic place. They say themselves that “a house by the sea is the fairest of dwellings…” and if you look at the photos, you’ll be convinced that they are right if, indeed, you had any doubt about this. The same families have been going to the Stone House for generations, and we’re pleased to get to know them through the Stone House 1854, a slightly more modern incarnation of the Stone House where questions about the origin of the cotton that make up the sheets and towels, the water use, and other important things are asked. It’s great they are asking those questions so you can relax when you are there next, and stroll the beach, ponder your next croquet move, and take pleasure in the beauty that surrounds.
